My 69 Camaro.....IllUSION

This is the section that really sets this car apart from the rest. 4th gen Trans Am interior in a 69 Camaro!! Why you ask.  The simple answer is comfort, aesthetics, modern technology and because I was told it couldn't be done. The dash is out of a 2002 Trans am and so is the center console. The front and rear seats including seat belts are from a 93 Trans Am. Everything is fully functional including seat belts, gauges, heater, wipers, head lights and even the cup holder for my girlfriend.  The head lights operate from the 2002 switch but still use the 69 dimmer switch on the floor just to combine modern and retro technology.
I chose the Trans am interior over the Camaro because of how nice it is a lot better looking interior and more comfortable. The most niticable difference is that the vents are all round instead of squares.
The 5" Autometer gauges were 100% my idea and everything was designed by myself. Enjoy!

If you look closely you can see that I took the old 69 defroster vents and welded them behind each other into the center of the transition piece. This helps utilize retro and modern technology. The transition piece fits right under the windshield to fill the gap between the 69 dash and the 2002 dash.

Here are some of the old pics before and after the original dash was completely cut out of the car. You can see where I had to cut the floor to access the T-56 6-speed transmission.
Rear seats and seatbelts from 4th gen Trans am. Fully functional 3 point seat belts front and rear. The rear seat even folds down just like in the 4th gen Camaros and Trans Ams.

The windshield was removed so that I could properly finish the dash transition piece and make any repairs to the rusted metal where the windshield sits.
